We are pleased to welcome John T.G. Nielsen, our newly appointed General Manager & Business Development Executive at Fivelements Bali. A seasoned senior hotelier, John brings solid experience in hospitality and hotel management, having previously worked for Hyatt and Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School in Melbourne, Australia and Suzhou, China, and Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management College in Shanghai, China.
We caught up with him to find out what he’s most excited about at Fivelements.
The Gamelan Semar Pegulingan orchestra will perform during the 5-course New Year’s Eve Chef’s Tasting Dinner at Fivelements Bali, followed by our special New Year's Agni Hotra Fire Ceremony
The music dedicated to Semara (the name of the Hindu God of love) resonates with his image in Balinese mythology: the ultimate expression of manis (sweet) and halus (refined) qualities. Evolved in the now-faded feudal court system of Bali, the delicate music of the Gamelan Semar Pegulingan provided entertainment for the princely rajas and their guests.
Standalone studio marks the start of Fivelements’ expansion into wellness destinations in the city
Today Fivelements announced plans to launch our first standalone Yoga & Sacred Arts city destination at the Times Square Building in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. This ‘urban retreat’, which will begin accepting memberships in the spring of 2019, marks the start of Fivelements’ expansion into city wellness destinations.
The Yoga & Sacred Arts city destinations will feature a rich collection of holistic practices aimed at fostering self-exploration, mental and physical health, and general wellbeing. Designed to cater to the growing corporate wellness clientele and the “urban wellness tribe”, Fivelements at Times Square will offer a diverse array of yoga and dynamic sacred arts practices, plant-powered nutrition, and integrative wellness programmes in various formats, ranging from classes to private sessions, corporate groups, workshops, events, and day retreats.
